Saving the Universe from...overdose...

-Get out Chess, I'm really not in the mood.-he said lighting up another cigarette. Now there is this bloody cat somewhere in the room, probably under the bed, and he lost his peace...Great, back to that "oh no, I'm going to die" toughts. Stupid haunted cat. He never actually said pets are allowed on this ship! Does anyone even listen to him here?! No! Why would they? He is just the captain...

-I'm okay.-she said avoiding to look her in the eyes. After she let out a sigh she heard some strange noises. Like the ship is falling apart. That was it; they are being dragged in! She covered her head with her arms and lied down into a fetal position. Now as the gravity was strong ant the ange of the ship very straight, they didn't fall apart. But got sucked in. Suddenly they found themselfs in a dar place, filled with that cookies. Only now nothing moved. The only thing she could here is captains cursing over how the ship is probably "ruined" and "broken".

-I know we are not going to die! Why would we? The angle in which we were dragged was perfect. And look we are alive.-he said standing up.-Let's check this.-he walked out of the room. The screen was black, but everything else seemed to be just fine.-Is everyone okay?-he yelled.

-I'm okay!-Cadance yelled back still not moving from the fetal position. You cpuld say she was a bit of a coward, or just really afraid of black holes and the universe itself. But now, once they were in, were they protected from it? Black holes were usually considered as portalys to other universes or times...She shouldn't be dealing about it, totally not her buisness.

The hole swallowed the ship much faster than they have expected, causing it to tumble and turbulate, the earthquake-like shaking knocking down several empty glasses and bottles in its wake. The trembling stopped soon and the ship steadied, meandering in what seemed to be a vast black hole filled with floating cookies. Alexander sighed, glancing at the radar nonchalantly. There was naturally nothing there except for a little dot- a dot? What the hell? Could it be a giant cookie? Or, god forbid, an asteroid? An alien, even worse? His eyes widened in shock, yet the thought that it might be another ship never crossed his mind. "Captain!" he called, standing up and almost running to him.
"Captain, the radar, there's something-"
Berwald looked at the radar cautiously, noticing the little flashing dot on the screen. Turning on the scanners, everyone waited with baited breath as the screen revealed a large ship. The captain resolved to attempt communication, hoping that the inhabitants of the ship would understand what he was saying.

-I am not scared.-he hissed.-Hush now, nobody really likes talking cats. Plus we are having some visual on this computer. Gather around.-though he tried to understand what was the face on the other side of the computer saying, he could barelly see him and...Wait, does this mean there is another ship in this place? If there are 2 ships here that means that the others planned this! Oh he is an idiot! How could he drag them into this! Now they will both lose and the last free ship will probably win!-Can you hear us?!-he said bumping the monitor.

They are not alone in this scary God-forbidden place! Oh thank you all mighty God! Now they will find a way to get out of this place and maybe winn the race togehter! Just like they are supposed to! Not with fighting and war and killing each other. They will sure be friendly, who knows for how long have they been here. Unless they are mad that they got dragged too. Maybe that is not that ship, maybe that's the other one! Probably the other one, if it was them who they dragged in a war have been started allready.

The connection was made and the screen slowly started loading the image of the occupants of the ships. According to the data on-screen, the ship was named The Magnificent Crusader and the creatures in it were... fairly normal? Very human-like, at least. He coughed, hoping to be able to form some coherent sentence, and, even more so, that they understand English. "Greetings," he began insecurely, shifting around and marveling over his pronunciation and how sharp his 'r' sounded. Gulping, he continued, suddenly forgetting how to say "vilja" in English. He began stuttering, trying to find a way around the clumsy introduction.
"Greetings. I- I am Captain Berwald Oxenstierna of the, uh, the Verinen Kukkamuna."
He was about to continue when he forgot the word for "uppsåt" and he gave up, sighing and rubbing his eyes with his hand. "Tino, could you please...?" he gestured in the general direction of the screen until Tino got the idea. And so it went again. "Hello! I am first mate Tino Väinämöinen of the Verinen Kukkamuna. We do not wish to engage in combat with you and it is not our intention to take anything away! We come in peace."
He smiled sheepishly, waving at the seemingly unimpressed crew of the other ship.

Sudenlly all you could hear in the ship was ''they are not going to kill us'', ''they come in peace''. Yes, this was pleasing Peter but the crew will now probably want to meet with that others. And what if this was just a trick? Maybe the strategy was to fool them first with that akward English and friendly faces and when they agree to meet with them they kill, eat or worse...
Okay, to test them a little bit first.-How many of you are in the ship? And how did you get in here?-again he said very firmly, looking like angry dad who's daughter is late from party.

Cadance was happy! As said before; they are not alone in this place and it made her feel a bit more safe. Yes they were strangers but knowing that there are more people but them in this endless place was great! Perhaps there are some cute guys there! Or someone who she allready knew from back home! Or some new alien species with 10 eyes and skin so green it looks like grass! Or maybe more cats like Chess so he wouldn't be alone with humans anymore! Now that they found them, what could possibly go wrong?

Tino couldn't hold his happiness in, giggling quietly before answering. It was all just so exciting! Other people in here, friends even, and they understand eachother! They're not alone, and maybe, just maybe, they will be able to escape this hole filled with nothingness and cookies. "There is..." Tino did a quick head-count of the crew members, just to make sure. "There's four of us at the moment." He began shifting awkwardly under the other man's angry gaze. He was so scary! In fact, he kind of reminded him of Berwald when they first met. Maybe he is a good person deep inside too...?
"We came here by accident. We got sucked in by the hole since we couldn't navigate away from it."
He wanted to ask the other ship's crew to introduce themselves, but he didn't dare.

Aare took a quick look at the other ship's crew and had no trouble determining which one of them was the captain. The man was in his thirties and looked exhausted and sleep-deprived. And also very handsome, if he dare notice. He smiled slightly before brushing it away and listen to the little idiot fumble around. First mate Väinämöinen (for the Captain insisted he must be called by his last name) was, in his opinion, far too submissive. He resolved to eventually take over, since the other man was clearly incapable of doing any negotiating.

-You came here by accident?-he echoed.-Okay, for how long have you been here?-he could see that they were almost checking him out and though it was weird he didn't mind. If they agree to work together to find a way out of this place, he as the oldest guy around will be the boss, so that was settled. At least something good. Yes, he will make orders and when the job is finished they will split reward 60-40. But he won't mention that right away. He needed some men strainght, working with girls only was sometimes boring and exaustingh...But this, oh, this is different...

Tino smiled again, looking rather mortified. The captain of the other ship looked very much unimpressed and you could see the doubt in his glaring eyes. "We've been here for about fifteen minutes." He looked around and the rest of his crew nodded, agreeing with his aloof estimation. He took a deep breath and was about to ask a question when he was interrupted by one of the crew members.
"I am Aare Jakobson and I ask of you to introduce yourself and your crew."
Captain Oxenstierna glared at him for interrupting his boyfriend, but made no further protest. Even he knew how bad they all were at this. Still, Aare was very straightforward, wanting to make it clear that he isn't playing games. If they manage to get out of this doomed-to-fail conversation successfully, they might even start cooperating. Perhaps even get out of this black hole, save the universe, that sorta thing.

-You must be such a brave young man.-he said sarcasticlly.-My name is Peter Hanaell Lambert and my crew members are Liisi Aaltonen, Asami Yukimura, Cadence Hill, Cynthia Van Sanne and her evil talking cat Chess. Fifteen minutes you say? Not much longer than us...-he sighed loudly. They did seem friendly or just really good actors. So, to risk the ship and his life or wonder this place for ever? He wasn't interested into his crew's opinions, he wa the one to make this decision and in case it turned out to be the wrong one he will find someone else to blame. Not a big problem. Okay, so we are going for the risk. May God help us, he tought before he started to speak.-If you are interested we can work with each other and find a way to get out. Once we are out we finish this mission and split the reward fairly.

Cadance was surprised by captain's words. He usually wasn't the guy who asks for help. He was the one who would do anything but ask for help, so this was probably just another game of his. She slowly waved, though nobody could actually see her wave because she was outside of the camera's view. At least she tried to look friendly as they looked to her. That couldn't be harmful, right? Unless they get mad when you are good to them. Hopefully that wasn't like that, so she smiled once again and then looked at captain's next reaction.

Aare smiled. And what a brave young man he was. Everything was going splendidly, according to plan (which he didn't really have). He nodded slowly at Peter's words and almost accepted the offer, but then remembering that no, he is not the captain of this ship and no, he can't make decisions. He glanced at the Captain who stood up and proclaimed: "We accept your offer." Tino whistled in response, a grin beaming on his face and the rest of the crew joined their little "celebration". Aare just stared at the captain of the other ship, a small satisfied smile finding its way to his lips.

Peter sighed, happy that his offer was accepted. He didn't smile or showed any kind of facial expression that would show the other team he is happy so he just sat back in his chair and turned around a bit. He did a good thing, right? Probably, his crew seemed rather relieved that they will be working together. Now, should they meet on one of the ships to think of a plan or just talk over the camera? He didn't trust them quite enough to meet, so the camera was just fine by now. He glanced over the man who was the one that asked him to introduce. He seemed to be full of him self, but with that kind of smirk it was really okay.
-No reasons to celebrate, we should come up with a plan.-he said finally.

Liisi laughed cheerfully, embracing Asami and holding her tightly. They weren't alone! They weren't alone in this godforsaken place, there was another ship, hope, a new friend, a new ally. The crew seemed jolly and with good intentions and she couldn't hold back her joy. And, has she heard it correctly, one of the crew members was a Finn? Oh, how much talking they will have! Surely they will get along amazingly. They always do, the likes of them.

A plan, Peter said, and so a plan Aare will make it. "I agree," he said, the cheering stopping abruptly in favour of his comment. "We need to figure something out, and we need to do so quickly. The other ship might be after us." Berwald let go of Tino, coughing slightly to hide his embarrassment and fixed the creases on his uniform before speaking.
"Yes, we should meet as soon as it is possible."
He turned to Tino, a questioning look on his face. Did he pronounce it correctly? Was that the right phrase? He didn't want to make a fool of them, especially not under these conditions.

-No, we shouldn't meet. We will solve our problem this way. We see and hear ourselves properly. I request to speak with your captain only. I believe that is fair and the only way to discuss this.-he said moving away from the comfort of the chair and resting his hands on the desk or just that empty place infornt of him. He was sure that the smirk guy, omm Aare is not the captain. He just didn't look experienced...In being a captain...And once the crew leaves them to talk alone, he will show his true intensions to the other captain and probably force him into agreeing with what he had in mind. An that was not two sided profit. Well, maybe a little bit. Peter and his crew will get most of the fame and reward and the other team will stay alive. You have to agree on that one. But it probably wasn't smart of him to kill his only help in here. What if he will rush to much and scare them away? Stupid black hole! He shivered a bit resting his head in his palms staring into the screen.

Cynthia glared at the screen, rather unimpressed and... huh, angry. This whole situation was making her blood boil and on top of this awkward conversation, their 'dear' captain was making his own plans. ''I'm so sick of this...'' she muttered with crossed arms, every now and then turning her head away from the monitor.

''I agree, but don't worry. He's not the only one with... ideas.'' he replied quietly, making sure none of the crew members heard him. Chess walked around the crew and finally stopped next to Peter, looking at his firm and cold expression, hoping this will end soon.

((The shortness... sorry I wasn't on earlier, I was at the cinema. The Rise of the Guardians was actually pretty good ))

Berwald arched an eyebrow suspiciously. What are they on about? Do they not trust them? Are they not aware they are each other's only hopes? Still, he complied, asking the crew to leave the room. Slowly they seeped out, Aare the only one grumbling about how unfair it is. He waited until The Magnificent Crusader's crew left, leaving the room empty of people save for the captain.
"Right," he began, unsure of what to say. "Should we join ships?"

Aare sat in his room, thinking about the new ship and the possible "friends" they might make. He actually felt sorry for wanting to take advantage of them- the captain looked respectable and, dare he say it, damn handsome. Judging by the looks, a man who could handle all this space shit that was suddenly thrust at them. A worthy ally indeed. He hoped Berwald wouldn't fuck this one up.

-Not quite yet.-he said not moving his head.-I feel that we should first get some rules over this camera. This is the deal; we will work with each others and try to find out of this place. Once we are out, we find the mind of this universe and complete our mission. When we come back home, the reward will be split 60% for us and 40% for you. Why is it so, you might ask. Well I am the oldest here and it is fair that I am the one who over looks everyone and commands. If you agree to work with me and obey my rules your life will be saved, if not on the other hand I will have nothing else to do other than kill you. I will rather be trapped here forever alone than trapped here forever with you. So, captain, do we have a deal? Or should I attack you right away?-he said and smirked a bit trying to look evil while he was really afraid what is going to happen. He was risking his life but this was the only was to settle this. Plus he would love to have such a wonderful pack behined him...

Berwald frowned, looking at the other captain in disbelief. What the hell was this? Does he think he can just come along and boss everyone around? Yet it would not be smart to risk it- they do not know the other ship's capacities and it might as well blast them off in a millisecond. Berwald had no choice but to agree (or so he told himself).
"A deal it is then."
An idea suddenly dawned upon him, a way to make this thing a bit more fair at least. "Captain Lambert, I propose a slight change in our agreement- say we split the reward 55-45? The bigger part, naturally, goes to you."
He tried his best "yes-I-am-completely-confident-of-my-negotiating-abilities" smile, yet he didn't feel like it much. Did the other captain even understand what he said? What if he misheard something and will lash out the lasers at them this instant? He gulped and hoped his uneasiness wasn't as obvious as he thought it was.

-The change is accepted. We will split the reward 55-45. We can now join our ships and let the crews meet.-he stood up and turned the camera off. This chat was over and he was ready to meet his new peasants. If the girls are happy with him as their captain, the guys will be to. Maybe he was a bit evil and weird but fair as a leader. Most of the time. Also, he was pretty lucky so he was sure they will win this thing and gather the reward. And with the reward comes fame and with fame come girls and...Well after being a captain to 4 girls (and a talking cat!) he didn't seem to look forward to the girls part of the reward.-Come on, the other crew will join us soon!-he yelled walking towards the rooms.

As she heard him yell, a smile found it's way to come across her face. That means they had a deal and everything will go well! They are saved! Oh, thank you all mighty Lord! Cadance jumped a bit still taking her space suit off. Should she wear something more formal now? Or just her regular jeans? Nah, jeans were just fine. It's just the other crew, it's not the queen of England or something...She laughed outloud hoping no one will hear her.

Berwald couldn't help but smile. They- no, he did it! He negotiated their way out of a near-death situation! And now, now they finally have someone to rely to, an ally, a friend, and he did it! When the camera turned off he stormed out of the room, finding his crew waiting in the main room. "Everyone, I have an announcement to make."
His crew looked up at him, disbelief evident on their face. An announcement? Can't be good.
"We have made a deal with The Magnificent Crusader. They will be our alley and aid us on our journey to the mind of the universe! Now come, come, we have to join ships and meet their crew."

Liisi ran out of her room as quickly as she could when she heard shouting and cheering from the outside. Something has happened, something good, finally! It appeared as if a deal was made with the other ship and now they were joining ships and she'll get to meet other people and oh, oh, oh, I can't wait! and she ran, ran through the corridors as the crew of the other ship entered the neutral room between ships. "Would you mind introducing yourselves?" a blond man asked, presumably the captain of the other ship. A smile beamed on her face- she loved introductions! Even though Peter will probably beat them all to the intros.

-This is Liisi, she is our navigator. This is Asami, the defender, also Liisi's partner. Partner as in life partner.-he coughed and blushed a bit.-And other crew members that are usually just in the way are Cadance, Cynthia and her cat Chess. Chess talks so don't get to scared about it. But I'm pretty sure I all ready introduced them to you. If you are interested in more about them feel free to ask them. Though they are not that interesting and you won't find anything juicy. And offcourse there is me, please call me captain while you are here. It would be nice if you would now introduce yourselves.

Cadance crossed her hands and looked at him very angry. Just in the way?! That was so typical for Peter. If you don't have a degree or some higher rank you are not much worth than a slave! She wanted to punch him so badly now and if this wasn't such and important meeting she would. Instead of that she just looked at the floor and got lost in her toughts.

Berwald smiled sheepishly. Okay, he can do this. He is the captain and should do the introduction thing. Yes.
"I am Captain Berwald Oxenstierna and you can call me whatever you will- want. Want." He took a deep breath and went on. "This is my first mate and my- uh... My." He looked down, unsure what to say. It's not as if he was ashamed- far from it. Just, what will the other crew think? "Boyfriend," Tino supplied with a rather awkward smile. "Yes, that. Tino Väinämöinen." He smiled and put his hand around Tino's shoulders, hoping to east the situation a little bit. "This is Aare Jakobson-" Aare nodded and smiled lightly in a greeting, purposefully meeting Peter-well, Captain's eyes to see his reaction. "-and Alexander Chamberlain." Alexander bowed and wanted to kiss the hands of all the ladies, but felt it would be far too inappropriate, considering the situation.
